This paper deals with the experimental quantification of the unsteady effects of the interactions between rotor and stator rows in high speed compressors. Due to the fact that the levels of the periodic fluctuations arising from the unsteady interaction may be low compared with the random fluctuations arising from the measurement uncertainties, it is crucial to minimize the errors inherent to the used technique. The first part of the paper concentrates on technical details relative to the experimental process. The second part is devoted to the data postprocessing. Two tools for analysing the rotor-stator interactions are presented. The first tool is based on a decomposition of the flow field which was initially introduced to solve numerical problems when attempting to calculate the flow field in a multi-row configuration. The second tool is based on a spectral analysis of the signal, that qualifies the interaction in a sense of circumferential spinning lobes. Experimental results obtained within both an  相似文献

This paper investigates the impact of capture of carbon dioxide (CO2) from fossil fuel power plants on the emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOX) and sulphur oxides (SOX), which are acid gas pollutants. This was done by estimating the emissions of these chemical compounds from natural gas combined cycle and pulverized coal plants, equipped with post-combustion carbon capture technology for the removal of CO2 from their flue gases, and comparing them with the emissions of similar plants without CO2 capture. The capture of CO2 is not likely to increase the emissions of acid gas pollutants from individual power plants; on the contrary, some NOX and SOX will also be removed during the capture of CO2. The large-scale implementation of carbon capture is however likely to increase the emission levels of NOX from the power sector due to the reduced efficiency of power plants equipped with capture technologies. Furthermore, SOX emissions from coal plants should be decreased to avoid significant losses of the chemicals that are used to capture CO2. The increase in the quantity of NOX emissions will be however low, estimated at 5% for the natural gas power plant park and 24% for the coal plants, while the emissions of SOX from coal fired plants will be reduced by as much as 99% when at least 80% of the CO2 generated will be captured.  相似文献

To fulfill the demands of more bandwidth in 5G and 6G communication technology, new dielectric substrates that can be co-fired into packages and devices that have low dielectric loss and improved thermal conductivity are desired. The motivation for this study is to design composites with low dielectric loss (tan δ) and high thermal conductivity (κ), while still limiting the electrical conductivity, for microwave applications involving high power and high frequency. This work describes the fabrication of high-density electroceramic composites with a model dielectric material for cold sintering, namely sodium molybdate (Na2Mo2O7), and fillers with higher thermal conductivity such as hexagonal boron nitride. The physical properties of the composites were characterized as a function of filler vol.%, temperature, and frequency. Understanding the variation in measured properties is achieved through analyzing the respective transport mechanisms.  相似文献

The Bluetooth Scatternet Formation (BSF) problem consists of interconnecting piconets in order to form a multi-hop topology. While a large number of BSF algorithms have been proposed, only few address time as a key parameter, and when doing so, virtually none of the solutions were tested under realistic settings. In particular, the baseband and link layers of Bluetooth are highly specific and known to have crucial impacts on performance. In this paper, we revisit performance studies for a number of time-efficient BSF algorithms, focusing on BlueStars, BlueMesh, and BlueMIS. We also introduce a novel time-efficient BSF algorithm called BSF-UED (for BSF based on Unnecessary-Edges Deletion), which forms connected scatternets deterministically and limits the outdegree of nodes to 7 heuristically. The performance of the algorithm is evaluated through detailed simulation experiments that take into account the low-level specificities of Bluetooth. We show that BSF-UED compares favorably against BlueMesh while requiring only 1/3 of its execution time. Only BlueStars is faster than BSF-UED, but at the cost of a very large number of slaves per master (much more than 7), which makes it impractical in many scenarios.  相似文献

An important feature of an ECG analysis program is its ability to provide reliable measurements under various operating conditions, e.g., on noise-free and noisy ECGs. Therefore, within the European cooperative project "Common Standards For Quantitative Electrocardiography" (CSE), the accuracy and stability of ECG measurements obtained by several computer programs has been compared. To investigate the stability of measurements two sets of 10 ECGs with and without seven different high- and low-frequency types of noise--altogether 160 electrocardiograms and 160 vectorcardiograms--have been analyzed by eight electrocardiographic and five vectorcardiographic computer programs. The stability of measurement was tested with respect to results obtained for the noise-free recordings. In a previous paper, the influence of noise on wave boundary recognition has been reported. In the present paper, the effect of noise on amplitude measurements and on problems of waveform definitions within the QRS complex are described. The results indicate that programs analyzing an averaged beat exhibit less variability than programs which measure every complex or a selected beat. Comparability and stability of measurements could be improved if a standardized procedure for amplitude references were to be introduced. In addition, the stability of QRS waveform labelling could be improved if waveforms' minimum amplitude and duration were to be validated against the noise level which itself should be determined by a standardized procedure.  相似文献

Glasses in the Na2O–CaO–SrO–ZnO–SiO2 system have previously been investigated for suitability as a reagent in Al‐free glass polyalkenoate cements (GPCs). These materials have many properties that offer potential in orthopedics. However, their applicability has been limited, to date, because of their poor strength. This study was undertaken with the aim of increasing the mechanical properties of a series of these Zn‐based GPC glasses by doping with nitrogen to give overall compositions of: 10Na2O–10CaO–20SrO–20ZnO–(40?3x)SiO2xSi3N4 (x is the no. of moles of Si3N4). The density, glass‐transition temperature, hardness, and elastic modulus of each glass were found to increase fairly linearly with nitrogen content. Indentation fracture resistance also increases with nitrogen content according to a power law relationship. These increases are consistent with the incorporation of N into the glass structure in threefold coordination with silicon resulting in extra cross‐linking of the glass network. This was confirmed using 29Si MAS‐NMR which showed that an increasing number of Q2 units and some Q3 units with extra bridging anions are formed as nitrogen content increases at the expense of Q1 units. A small proportion of Zn ions are found to be in tetrahedral coordination in the base oxide glass and the proportion of these increases with the presence of nitrogen.  相似文献

In order to study the responses of wild fish to environmental contaminations, different sites (two references and three contaminated) were sampled across the Walloon hydrographical network (southern Belgium). The status of fish communities was characterized according to an index of biotic integrity (IBI). Furthermore, population structure, reproductive parameters and biochemical assays were performed on chub (Leuciscus cephalus) as sentinel species. The results showed impaired responses in fish sampled downstream paper mill effluents (BKME), in a polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) contaminated site, and in a river receiving pesticides (i.e. atrazine and hexachlorocyclohexane). High level of hepatic 7-ethoxyresorufin-Odeethylase (EROD) activity were evidence of direct toxicant exposure, while population structures showed unbalanced size-frequency distributions. Moreover, in the pesticide contaminated site, a higher proportion of atretic oocytes was found in females and abnormally high plasma alkali-labile phosphorus (ALP) values were noticed in males, compared to reference sites, suggesting that chubs were exposed to estrogenic compounds. IBI scores from both sites were also lower than in reference sites. On the other hand, no particular response was found in hepatic glutathione-S-transferase (GST) activities, hepatic heat-shock protein HSP70 concentrations and plasma sex steroids (estradiol-17beta, 11-ketotestosterone and testosterone) in chubs from any sites. By using a multiparametric approach, a better understanding of response mechanisms to pollution in fish may be achieved in order to improve the ecological status of river ecosystems.  相似文献

Sewage treatment plants are frequently associated with the release of xenobiotics and, consequently, with alterations of the reproductive function induced by many of these substances in aquatic organisms. In order to assess the impacts of sewage treatment plant (STP) discharges in polluted rivers, two sentinel species (gudgeon Gobio gobio and stoneloach Barbatula barbatula) were caught during their reproductive cycle upstream and downstream two STPs (STP1--Goffontaine, STP2--Wegnez). Gonadosomatic index, histological (testicular and ovarian stages, atretic follicles, intersexuality) and endocrine (sex steroids, aromatase activity, alkali-labile phosphorus) parameters were assayed. In brief, the results revealed no systematic significant differences (p<0.05) between upstream and downstream sites, whatever the STP, species or sampling period. However, stoneloach females displayed some signs of reproductive impairment and endocrine disruption downstream STP1 (reduced GSI, oocyte diameter and ALP concentrations, increased proportion of atretic follicles) and STP2 (changes in gonadal aromatase activity and plasma levels of 11-KT and T). Few significant changes were observed for gudgeon males and females while there were no significant differences between upstream and downstream sites for stoneloach males. Moreover, plasma E(2) concentrations recorded in gudgeon males sampled in all sites were as high as in females and this was confirmed by high ALP levels. Besides, spermatogenesis of gudgeon males was delayed in STP1 upstream and downstream sites compared to the corresponding sites in STP2. These observations for gudgeon males do not seem related to STP discharge but to a probable estrogenicity of the river. Therefore, as shown by the results, stoneloach seemed more sensitive than gudgeon to STP discharges. In the present study, sewage treatment plant discharges do not substantially impair fish reproduction. In this respect, caution is required when generalising negative impacts of STP discharges.  相似文献
